This refreshing probiotic drink has many healing benefits.
It aids digestion. The mild acidity of apple cider vinegar supports digestion in the stomach and mineral absorption in the intestines.
It may help balance blood sugar-insulin levels and prevent sugar cravings.
It’s alkalizing, thereby helping to balance acid-alkaline in the body. Although it is acid upon ingestion, apple cider vinegar is quickly broken down, releasing minerals which produce a slightly alkaline environment optimal to overall health. Although it sounds paradoxical, an acid stomach is needed for a slightly alkaline and healthy body.
Apple Cider Vinegar is a common remedy for acid reflux and heartburn. Ironically, too little stomach acid may be a cause for acid reflux and heartburn. There are other causes but this is a simple one to rule out. Since not all acid reflux is from low stomach acid, start slowly-try 1 tsp in 1 cup water; if ok, can increase to 1 Tbsp. per cup water.
ACV provides beneficial probiotic bacteria that strengthens digestion as well as strengthens and balances the immune system. About 2/3 of the body’s entire immune system is in the gastrointestinal tract and beneficial bacteria play a critical role in immune function and balance.
